Ronald McDonald Kid Town

Ronald McDonald Kid town —a place where kids with cancer can still be kids
Ronald McDonald Kid Town is a welcome addition to Gundersen Lutheran Cancer Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Ronald McDonald Kid Town is a play place specially designed for pediatric cancer patients and their families. A joint effort between Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota and Gundersen Lutheran Cancer Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Ronald McDonald Kid Town opened in June 2003. Even with cancer, a kid can still be a kid at Ronald McDonald Kid Town.

Young patients are surprised to find an exciting and colorful place to spend time before, during, and after treatment. What will families find at Ronald McDonald Kid Town?

Kids’ Retreat Opens in Rochester Ronald McDonald House
In January of 2004, the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, Minnesota, completed an 18-room expansion project. The project included the addition of a specially designed area for kids ages 6 through 18 who are staying at the house. Games and “hang out” areas are designed to support the well being of ill children and their siblings. The room provides a much-needed break from the rigors of medical therapy.

RMHC of Western Wisconsin sponsored this special retreat. Funding was provided through McDonald’s canister contributions and support provided by the McDonald’s in the Minnesota-Iowa Co-op.
